Analyzing ROI of Thin-Client VMS Solutions from an IT Perspective

As with most business software, CTOs and CSOs are increasingly turning to thin-client solutions when selecting video management software to secure their facilities. From an IT perspective, thin-client architecture is preferable on many levels. It is easier to install, update, maintain and protect from cyber threats, thereby reducing demands placed on the IT team that supports it.
There are, however, some limitations to a pure thin-client approach to VMS software, due to the unique nature of the application. Unlike most other applications that incorporate video, VMS software must be able to display a high number of concurrent video streams, each with sophisticated display and playback capabilities.
