Free Integration with VAX Access Control and Multi-Language Support Now Included

Hauppauge, NY |  March 30, 2017:  Vicon Industries, Inc. (VII: NYSE-MKT) (“Vicon”), trusted designer and producer of video security systems and high-performance IP cameras, announced today the release of  Valerus VMS 1.1. All new features included with this update directly support the Valerus promise of “Advanced Simplicity,”  including simplified purchase, deployment and operation.

Valerus 1.1 offers built-in integration with Vicon’s VAX Access Control software, which is available, free of charge, to any customer using both systems. When enabled, live and recorded Valerus video may be viewed from within the VAX user interface, automatically displaying video clips that correspond to specific access control events. Implementing an integrated VMS/access control solution has never been easier. A mouse-click within the Valerus set-up, along with identification of the VAX server IP address, is all that’s required. There is no additional licensing, regardless of the number of cameras or card readers in use.

Valerus now offers multi-language support, including Spanish, French, Italian, German and Arabic, in addition to English. Users can select their language preference under “User Settings” and all text within the user interface will appear in the language of their choice. This feature will clearly simplify operation and system management for customers for whom English is not their first language.

Other updates included in Valerus 1.1 are improvements to the user interface designed to ease the user experience. It is no longer necessary for users to access the configuration menu in order to locate their activation key.  A “Contact my dealer” link has been added within the licensing screen, allowing users to quickly locate their dealer’s details.  And, a new folder that stores html content makes it much easier to add web pages to the Valerus interface.

Current Valerus customers are encouraged to update their system to version 1.1, which is available on Vicon’s website. No additional licensing is required. For new customers, a free, 30-day trial version of Valerus can be downloaded at: www.vicon-security.com/free-valerus.

“The new features of Valerus 1.1 are the first of many our customers can look forward to in the coming year,” said Bret McGowan, Senior VP Sales and Marketing. “With each new release, we will continue to improve upon the user experience of “Advanced Simplicity,” which so clearly differentiates Valerus from any other VMS on the market.”

Valerus 1.1 will be on display at ISC West, Vicon booth 10073. Visit www.vicon-security.com for more information.
