To take advantage of the full power of ViconNet video management software (VMS), the hardware must have significant computing power. If you are planning on upgrading to the latest version of ViconNet VMS, remember to check if the recommended hardware requirements have changed, to ensure you gain access to all the newest features.
Listed below are the minimum hardware requirements for ViconNet version 8. System A represents the minimum requirements from systems running old hardware with limited computing power. Using this hardware will only give access to some of ViconNet’s functionality. System B represents the minimum requirements from systems running old hardware with more comprehensive computing power and will give access to the majority of ViconNet’s functionality.

Recommended hardware for ViconNet 8 VMS
Hardware for previous ViconNet VMS versions
ViconNet Version 8 is backwards compatible with ViconNet versions V4.X, V5.X, V6.X and V8.X. The machine hosting the ViconNet Nucleus must be upgraded to version 8 before upgrading any system DVRs, NVRs or Workstations.

A Software Upgrade is a one-time purchase and does not entitle the user to additional product upgrades.
Software Maintenance Packages
A Software Maintenance Packages entitles the user to free access to product upgrades. The contract runs one or more years and may be purchased along with the product or if a Product Upgrade is purchased.
The Software Maintenance Packages are designed to support the original hardware for a period of three years. Afterwards, hardware upgrades may be necessary to support future versions of ViconNet software.
