Non-ViconNet DVR SystemsVicon’s VDR products are the digital video recorders of choice for users who desire high-end features in an economical, stand alone system. Although they are not compatible with the ViconNet family of products, the VDR series does offer a variety of quality settings and recording modes, including scheduled recording and motion detection. Quadplex operation enables these feature-rich units to perform simultaneous recording, playback and network-streaming and backup. All of these functions are accessible from a user-friendly front panel controls including a convenient JOG/shuttle dial for adjustable playback speed. Live and recorded video can also be easily accessed through the Internet via web browser. The eight-channel model, VDR-408-500 provides 500 gigabytes of internal storage, while a full terabyte is available in the sixteen channel version, model VDR-416-1000. Archived video can be exported by network connection, USB or on-board CD-RW. Both models are capable of recording all cameras in real-time at 720x480 resolution. The rear panels provides connection ports for hard-wired alarms and relays, four audio inputs, PTZ control, serial communication, USB socket, RJ-45 for network connection and a variety of outputs for local display including BNC, VGA and S-Video.
