About Vicon Training Classes

Who should attend?
The Vicon Training Classes are designed for those people who are designing or using our VMS or VAX solutions. Anyone who will be creating the network architecture, installing, setting up, programming or using a Valerus or VAX system should consider attending. This includes:

  • Installing dealers (Technicians, system designers, support personnel)
  • Architects and engineers
  • End users (IT managers, security managers and administrators, security operators)

Class times:
Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Actual conclusion time may vary based on Q&A and testing. You must attend each full day of class in order to receive certification.

Course description:

  • Duration: 3 full days
  • Level: Starts at basic levels and progresses to higher levels
  • Prerequisites: Please read pre-class materials
  • Type: Theory, technical concepts and hands-on training
  • Fee: $200
  • Includes: Vicon certificate of achievement, Vicon t-shirt, breakfast and lunch

Prior to attending our new Valerus/VAX integrated solution training, participants are expected to review pre-course materials.  It is important that all participants are familiar with the product information and configuration concepts addressed in these documents.

Please note that testing for Valerus and VAX certification will occur at the conclusion of classes.

VALERUS training:

With your own personal workstation assigned to you for the duration of the course, the series of learning modules will provide hours of hands-on training. Valerus training will demonstrate how easy it is to configure and deploy our new thin-client software and how to create complete security solutions.

BICSI Continuing Education Credits:

Effective March 22, 2017, BICSI recognizes Valerus VMS and VAX Access Control training for 21 BICSI Continuing Education Credits. BICSI credential holders will receive these CECs on their training certificate upon successful completion of our Valerus and VAX course and exam.

FAQs

Q: Can more than one person from my company attend?
A: Yes. You may send as many people as you wish, as long as there are still enough seats to accommodate your party.

Q: How much does training cost?
A: The cost is $200 for training program – 3 full days. In addition, you are responsible for your own transportation and lodging.

Q: How is transportation handled?
A: You are responsible for booking your own travel arrangements. If you are traveling from out of town, please plan on arriving in the city where the class is held no later that the night prior to the first day of class. If you are participating in only two days of classes, do not plan on leaving the class until 5:00 p.m. Certificates will not be awarded to participants who leave early.

Q: What about meals?
A: We provide continental breakfast and lunch each day, as well as coffee, sodas and snacks.

Q: Do I receive a certificate at the end of the course?
A: All attendees who attend all days of training and pass a short exam at the completion of the course will receive a certificate.

Q: How do I register?
A: Use the easy, online registration form.

Q: How do I make a payment? Is the fee refundable if I cancel?
A: After you register online, you will receive a phone call or email from our training coordinator, Christine Stone. She will assist you in making payment and discuss various options. We will be happy to refund you registration fee, in full, if you need to cancel at least two full business days or more before the start of class.


Lodging and Transportation

Classes in New York are held at the Hyatt Regency long Island in Hauppauge. The hotel is located at 1717 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, NY. Telephone 631-784-1234. Rooms at a discounted rate will be provided. This hotel offers free shuttle to/from the MacArthur (ISP) airport and the local LIRR train station.

For classes held in other cities, Christine Stone will suggest an affordable and conveniently located hotel when she contacts you to arrange payment.
